A solid Chinese takeaway that I use often for the convenience of the fact it is en-route to my girlfriends. The food is hit & miss 4 times out of 5 of a high quality that leaves you nicely full and wanting for more, and yet at other times a complete let-down that you have to wait an exceptionally long time for (especially as there is no eat-in restaurant, it is a specialist take-away).
Was slightly disappointed when asking for some free prawn crackers with my £18 order (which was in the shop, not even over the phone!!) that I had to spend £20 for free prawn crackers, a dish that would cost them about 3 pence to make a bag full. For this reason and the frequent long waits I would say the service is poor, yet this can often be forgiven for a very tasty meal. -

After moving to London, it took a lot of seriously revolting Chinese takeaways ending up in the bin before we finally discovered Jan. The food is delicious - there's no skimping on key ingredients (the chicken balls contain huge pieces of chicken rather than being mostly batter) and always appears fresh. We recently moved just outside Jan's free delivery area, but the £2 extra charge (although the menu states £1) is absolutely worth it. Price and delivery times are, in my experience, average for Chinese takeaways. Just don't get your hopes up for Chinese on a Monday evening as that's when Jan is closed!
